Chennai Metro Water Treatment

Metro Water Treatment

We providing solutions of metro water treatment chennai for Commercial, and Industrial Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant, Also we provides High-quality water treatment plant in chennai at lowest price. In Metro Water and panchayat water is delivered to homes through pipes from reservoirs, ponds, lakes and even from rivers which is nothing but stored rain water, usually in stored rain water , as its rain water the water is generally pure from chemical contaminants but once it touches the ground it starts consuming the characters of the ground where the rain lands.

If we take Chennai City depends on Poondi with 3231 Mcft (Storage capacity) , Cholavaram with 1081 Mcft, Redhills with 3300 Mcft & Chembarambakkam the highest with 3645 Mcft .

Though the water treatment is done the water quality in Chennai still remains as question mark as the piped water carry lot of contaminants as well as many areas pipes are old and in some areas there is mix of sewage water in the Metro water due to pipes broken in some places so its better to have a basic water treatment plant which we call as Over Head Tank filtration system .

Sometimes you can see red worms in metro water which is usually gets piped during summer as the water is piped from the bottom most part of reservoirs which is muddy , mirkish and contaminated.

Metro or Municipal Water Treatment

Things you need before you install a Over head tank filtration system
  • You need a collection sump (storage tank at the below ground level)
  • Need a motor which pushes the water from your sump to Over head Tank
Muddy Water Treatment Solution

The best way to purify dirty or muddy water is to put a solution of Alum (Aluminium Sulphate) into the well directly in case of open well or into the primary holding tank into which the borewell water is pumped into. Alum is safe and is a flocculent used by almost all public water authorities for primary settlement of sediment in water their water purification. You do not need to use too much. As a rough guide dissolve about 50 grams of Alum in about 5 to 10 liters of water in a bucket and pour it evenly over the surface of the well or the bore well holding tank. 50 grams of Alum is more than sufficient for a well of upto about 6 meters (20 feet) diameter. For very small wells and holding tanks use about half the quantity. The water should become clear within 24 hours with almost all the mud and dirt settling to the bottom of the well or tank. In case your water has no other contaminants other than turbidity which was caused by the dirt and muddy water, then before using the water run it through a simple cartridge filter , Sediment filters and also to remove any odours and to improve the taste of water install also an Activated Carbon filter.

How does a Metro Water Treatment Filter Work?

During the service cycle water is treated by one or more processes. Processes include: separation, adsorption, and addition of sacrificial media to the water each having its specific place and purpose in treatment. Many Metro filters are specialized, designed to treat one water quality problem. A “filtration system” may have more than one filter, think multiple filters for multiple problems.

During the service cycle contaminants are filtered from the water as it flows through the media bed from the top to the bottom of the filter tank. If the filter did not have a mechanism for cleaning itself it would, over time, foul, plug up or otherwise stop working and fail. To prevent this from happening the control valve periodically directs the flow of water to clean the filter bed after which the filter is returned to service. This filter cleaning process.

During the backwash cycle water flows in reverse from the service flow, water flows from the bottom of the filter bed to the top lifting the media and separating the filtered contaminants which flow out of the control valve to drain. Following the backwash cycle is the rapid rinse cycle. During the rapid rinse cycle water again flows from the top to the bottom of the media bed. This is the same direction as the service flow, but the water is directed to the drain. The rapid rinse cycle serves two primary purposes; it re-packs the media bed and cleans leftover contaminants from the bottom of the bed. Once the rapid rinse cycle finishes the control valve places the filter back into the service mode.

This high quality, granular media is produced from a unique mineral deposit that has high surface area and porosity, making this media preferred over conventional sand. The surface of this media features microscopic minerals that allow particulate matter to penetrate deeply into the bed.

Chlorine and slight sulfur odors can often be removed by a carbon filter unit. However, when odors are extreme, your water treatment professional may recommend a chemical feed system to help increase the life of a carbon unit. In such installations, this series of filters will effectively remove taste and odor associated with chlorine and sulfur.

Ideal for treating acidic waters that can corrode a plumbing system.
